The Kentucky-bred son of First Samurai broke his maiden in his third career start, last November at Gulfstream Park West. After a second-place finish against optional claiming types last January in his first race against winners, he most recently finished off the board in the Grade 3 Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park. Pletcher, in addition to being a 7-time Eclipse Award winning trainer, has saddled two Kentucky Derby winners, including Super Saver (2010) and Always Dreaming (2017).
